The coach that can see your dog.

A trainer can see your dog but isn't there at 2 a.m. An app is always there but has never seen him. Pawly is both.

A trainer's eye, there whenever you are.

A trainer sees a few reps a week. Pawly can check every rep you film and every photo you snap, day or night, and it shows you what it looked at before it tells you anything.

Sit check

Every rep, checked joint by joint.

Prop your phone at his height. Pawly finds the points on his body in every frame, then checks three things.

  1. Elbows upHis front legs are straight, so he's sitting, not lying down.
  2. Rear downHis hips are low, not hovering.
  3. Holding stillHe isn't creeping toward the treat.

All three for 1.5 seconds, and the rep counts.

One photo. Six things checked.

It outlines the part it's reading, then checks color, firmness, blood, mucus, worms and anything swallowed. Fine, worth watching, or one for your vet. It never diagnoses.

Your home, from his height.

Take a few photos of a room. Pawly looks closer at the floor, outlines what he could chew or swallow, and says what to fix today and what to watch.

The tech under the pup

Measured from one iPhone video.

Here it's measuring Lucas, Jake's dog: speed, path and pose from one ordinary phone video, with no collar or sensors. Sprint speed is just this demo. The same kind of dog-vision work is behind Pawly's rep checks, and what it's learning to read next.

A single demonstration with Lucas. Method and limits are on the technology page.

And you can talk to it, day or night.

Pawly is an AI coach you text or speak to. Before it answers, it checks his record: his age, his logs, his plan. So the answer is about him, at 2 p.m. or 2 a.m.

It answers from his record.

Ask how potty training is going. It checks open concerns and his care logs, then answers from his log: four good trips today, in the same spot.

Used: checked open concerns and care logs

Still there at 2 a.m.

Crying in the crate? It checks his trip log first. He went 20 minutes ago, so it's settling, not the potty. Then a timer checks in at 5, 10 and 20 minutes.

He went 20 min ago · probably not the potty

Why not just ask the internet?

Chatbots and other puppy apps help a little. Here's what's different when the help already knows him.

Asking a general chatbot

My puppy is 11 weeks old, a shih-poo, about 4 lb. He's been biting our hands every evening around 7. We're on day 5 of swapping in a toy and ending play when he bites. Last night was a bit easier. He napped 11 to 1 and had dinner at 5:30. What should we do tonight?

Good advice, once you've typed all of that.

Asking Pawly

He's biting again.

Read his record · Evening biting plan, step 2 · Last night: easier

Right on time, it's his 7pm wind-up. Stay on step 2 tonight: swap in the rope toy, and if he keeps going, a two-minute break in his pen. Last night was easier, so it's working.

Same kind of AI. It just starts from what it knows.

The first year is a lot.

The 3am crying, the accidents, the chewing, the zoomies, and nobody hands you a plan. You're not the only one up at 3am.

Pothos can hurt his mouth and stomach. Move it out of his reach, and call your vet if he's drooling or being sick.

Yes, YouTube has every trainer you need.

So we don't remake them. The trainer teaches, free. Pawly adds what a video can't: it knows him, answers about him, and watches his reps. Working with a trainer in person? They see him an hour a week. Pawly covers the other 167.

Between reps, it plans his day with you.

It learns his rhythm from a few taps and knows when it's a vet question.

  1. Health

    Safety first. Then your vet.

Say what he ate and how much. It does the math for his weight, says what to do now and gets his details ready for the vet. It never diagnoses.
